The Columbia-Bassett curriculum is designed to allow students to experience varied disciplines, allowing them to select the field most compatible with their interests and goals.
At Columbia-Bassett we have conjoined the AAMC four-year approach to career selection (http://www.aamc.org/students/cim/start.htm) with our own special approach to helping students develop insight into their aptitudes and skills.
Students have a Major Mentor, longitudinal contact with preceptors, and sessions during which students challenge each other and faculty will challenge students to contemplate their career choice.
The ability to understand health care environments – the SLIM Curriculum helps students recognize a positive career environment when they are presented with one.
